About tourists.pt

An independent, English-language toolkit for the practical side of a trip to Portugal. It covers what you need on the ground, not where to go.

How we check figures

Every fare, tax and rule on the site carries its source and the date we checked it. We prefer operators', councils' and government publications; where only news reports or a single commercial guide exist, the page says so and marks the figure "unconfirmed". We don't estimate prices we couldn't source. The last full check was on 2026-11-06.

Prices change, mostly on 1 January for transport and at any time for municipal taxes. If you spot something out of date, the operator's own site is the final word.

Data and images

• Municipality boundaries: CAOP, Direção-Geral do Território, simplified for the map.
• Weather forecasts and warnings: live from IPMA's open data service.
• The 3D hero scene, tram, pastel de nata and coffee were modelled and rendered in Blender for this site. Illustrations were generated for this site and show no real businesses.

Privacy

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics in consent mode. Until you choose "Allow analytics", no analytics cookies are set and only aggregate, cookieless signals are sent. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage. The tourist-tax calculator, ticket comparison and quiz run entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us. Weather data is fetched directly from IPMA.
