The Azores, the practical bits
Nine islands in the middle of the Atlantic, one hour behind Lisbon. Most visitors land at Ponta Delgada on São Miguel, where the weather can show all four seasons in a day.
From the airport
Airport to Ponta Delgada. The airport is under 3 km from the centre, so a taxi from the rank outside arrivals is short. There is also an airport bus. Published fares differ, so ask before you set off. Source: Ponta Delgada Airport (ANA) · checked 6 Nov 2026
Tourist tax
